Do I need consent to access or add to a patient’s health record or care plan in Inca?

Do I need consent to access or add to a patient’s health record or care plan in Inca?

Inca will only grant you access or update rights to the patient’s health record or care plan if the patient has already consented to sharing their health information using Inca

The primary care provider who is responsible for registering the patient is required to obtain consent from the patient. Inca will not provide access to a patient’s health information or care plan until the primary care provider has confirmed that consent has been obtained.

Once a patient has been registered with Inca, under the Commonwealth Privacy Act, looking up or adding to the patient’s health record or care plan is considered to be an acceptable use of data.
